Key Ingredients
Here is a visual overview of the salmon grazing board ingredients. Scroll to the recipe at the bottom for quantities.
- Smoked Salmon - I prefer using smoked wild-caught Sockeye salmon for its vibrant color and the fact that it's wild, not farm-raised. However, smoked Atlantic salmon works great too!
- Cream Cheese - We blended room-temperature cream cheese in a food processor to make it smooth. Garnish it with a drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Everything Bagel Seasoning.
- Belgian Endive - Here's a delicious gluten-free way to enjoy smoked salmon: I love spreading cream cheese inside and adding a piece of salmon and a few capers. It’s delicious!
- Capers, Bagels, Tomatoes, and Pickled Onions - For the onions, try my Hibiscus Pickled Red Onions recipe, and create your own bagel and lox experience!
- Asparagus - Salmon and asparagus are a classic pairing, and you can enjoy them together by trying my Oven Baked Salmon in Foil recipe!
- Radish - The crisp texture and peppery taste of radish complement the fatty and rich flavor of salmon.
- Crackers - We used the fig crackers from Trader Joe's.
- Hard Boiled Eggs - Smoked salmon and eggs are a French tradition and you have to try my Smoked Salmon Breakfast recipe.
- Cumbers - The crispiness of cucumbers adds a nice texture to the delicate nature of smoked salmon.
- Olives - We used Castelvetrano olives.
See recipe card for quantities.
Substitutions + Variations
- Instead of smoked salmon use gravlax, smoked trout, or smoked mackerel.
- The cheeses that pair well with smoked salmon are cream cheese, Boursin cheese, or whipped ricotta.
- For a gluten-free approach, use gluten-free bread and crackers.
- The only fruit I would put on this smoked salmon charcuterie board is sliced navel or blood oranges.
- For other condiment suggestions try my Everything Bagel Dressing, it goes great with smoked salmon.
