See recipe card for quantities.
Eggnog
You can use store-bought or make my Bourbon Eggnog seasoned with delicious winter spices. Eggnog is a loose custard mixed with cream and seasoned cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg.
Creme De Cacao
It's a chocolate-flavored liquor used in cocktails to impart that delicious chocolate flavor. We went with the white Creme de Cacoa for this White Christmas cocktail.
If you can't find Creme de Cacoa you can substitute any chocolate flavored liquors or Kahlua.
Southern Comfort
Is a whiskey-flavored spirit that has hints of honey, peaches, vanilla, and spices. A good swap for SoCo is a good quality Bourbon, Rum, or Brandy.

Candy Cane Rim. Garnishing your martini glass with a festive rim is optional, but it will impress your guests.
Place the candy canes in a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin to crush them into small pieces. Alternatively, you can use a coffee grinder or food processor and pulse until the candy canes are finely crushed.
In a shallow bowl, combine equal parts crushed candy canes and powdered sugar. Rub the rim of your martini glass with honey, then dip it into the candy cane mixture to coat.
White Christmas Cocktail. Fill a cocktail shaker up with ice and add in the eggnog, creme de cacao, and southern comfort.
Give it a good 30-45 second shake or until the shaker is too cold to hold and the stainless-steel sides look frosted.
Strain your Christmas cocktail into the prepared glass. You may have a little extra cocktail left, depending on the size of your martini glass.
Garnish. I love to dust a little extra powdered sugar over my White Christmas Cocktail for a snowy, winter wonderland touch. Enjoy!

FAQ's
Whiskey comes in a range of strengths, so the alcohol content of your cocktail will largely depend on the type you select. For example, using an 80-proof whiskey would result in a drink with an alcohol by volume (ABV) of just 9% (18 proof), comparable to a glass of wine. Even with 100-proof whiskey, the generous amount of eggnog in this recipe keeps the cocktail pleasantly mild.
This recipe makes one cocktail, but the exact serving size depends on the capacity of your martini glass. An 8-ounce glass will accommodate this recipe, while smaller glasses might give you a little extra to enjoy.
There are numerous holiday drink favorites, but the most popular would have to be eggnog. Other contenders might include mulled wine, hot cocoa, wassail, or hot buttered rum.
